Encampments

His Excellency GOV. MOORE has determined to provide Col. Walter Smith’s Home Regiment (Fire Brigade) with tents and camp equipage to enable them to take the field in the vicinity of Mobile and form a Camp of Instruction.  The steps have been taken to put the order into execution as soon as possible.

COL. HAYNIE’S 89th Regiment Alabama Militia, 1,200 strong, is also making arrangements to go into camp somewhere on the coast in the neighborhood of Portersville.  The Commissioners of Roads and Revenue for the county of Mobile have appropriated $2,000 for the purchase of tents and equipage.
