            A REGIMENT OF MOUNTED MEN FOR THE WAR—The Jackson Mississippian learns that Wirt Adams, Esq., has been authorized by the President to enlist a regiment of mounted men for the war, designed for service as independent, partisan force for active operation and constant movement, not confined to any particular locality or superior command, but acting under general orders from the President or Secretary of War.
