Vance’s
Legion.—ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS BOUNTY—In a few days
all free white males liable to Military service, between the ages of 18 and 35
will be enrolled for active service and sent into Companies whose officers have
been already chosen, and without Bounty money.
When once enrolled, you cannot volunteer. Col. Z. B. Vance now commanding 26th
Regiment of N.C. Troops and who was in the hottest of the battle at Newbern is
raising a Legion, and I am authorized to raise a company for it. All desiring to join, will call at my office,
of the Drug Store of Porter and Gorrell.
This is the last opportunity you will have to volunteer and for Bounty
money. Officers elected by the Company.

L. GORRELL
