Partisan Rangers.
Maj. Robert White, who is at present
connected with the Ordnance Department in Greensboro, N. C., has been
authorized by the Secretary of War, and by the direct approval of the hero
“Stonewall” Jackson, to raise a battalion, and if thought proper a Regiment of
Partisan Rangers, to be composed of cavalry and infantry, or either as may be
desired, to operate in Stonewall Jackson’s Department. Maj. White has been in the service the past
year, and will, we feel assured, make an excellent leader for a guerrilla
party. Call at once at the Ordnance
Office Greensboro, N. C. and join the most attractive arm of the service before
you are enrolled and taken off, under the conscript act.
