Partisan Rangers.
We
invite attention to the advertisement of P. G. Evans. This gallant officer has special authority
from Maj. Gen. D. H. Hill to accept of companies of Partisan Rangers to form a
Battalion or Regiment of this popular branch of the service. From a long acquaintance with Capt. Evans, we
can truly say that he is all-and-all a gentleman, and will treat every man
under his command with that respect to which he is entitled; while Generals
Holmes, Branch, Ransom and others, invariably speak of him in the most
complimentary terms as a soldier and commander.
