PAINFUL ACCIDENT—On Wednesday last as Mr. Charles Kreuster was engaged in the manufacture of percussion caps, the detonating powder exploded. It was but a small quantity of powder, but nevertheless the explosion wounded Mr. Kreuster’s hands so severely that amputation of one finger, and a portion of another was resorted to.
Mr. Kreuster is an exceedingly worthy and engenius [sic] mechanic, and we sincerely hope that his hands are not so injured as to be wholly unserviceable to him in his business.
