OF GOV. ELLIS

Ellis left Raleigh
about the 21st ultimo, for the springs in Virginia.�
It was said that he suffered from the fatigue of travel, but it was
hoped that he would ultimately be benefited by the visit and relaxation from
business.� But this hope, it appears, has
not been realized.� A report reached here
Monday evening that he was dead.� He died
at Red Sulphur Springs on Sunday last.
