Promotion in the 11th Regiment.

are pleased to record the election of Capt. Wm. L. Scott to the office of
Lieut. Colonel in place of Lieut. Colonel Leach.� Lieut. Wm. L. Rankin [corrected the next week,
should read: Wm. S. Rankin] has been elected Captain in place of Capt. Scott,
promoted Sergeant W. L. Hill [corrected the next week, should read: W. S. Hill]
1st Lieut. In place of Lieut. Rankin, promoted and Eli Gilmer
appointed 1st Sergeant in place of Sergeant Hill, promoted.� Those gentlemen are all worthy the honors
bestowed upon them by their brother soldiers.
