Promotion in the 11th Regiment.
We
are pleased to record the election of Capt. Wm. L. Scott to the office of
Lieut. Colonel in place of Lieut. Colonel Leach. Lieut. Wm. L. Rankin [corrected the next week,
should read: Wm. S. Rankin] has been elected Captain in place of Capt. Scott,
promoted Sergeant W. L. Hill [corrected the next week, should read: W. S. Hill]
1st Lieut. In place of Lieut. Rankin, promoted and Eli Gilmer
appointed 1st Sergeant in place of Sergeant Hill, promoted. Those gentlemen are all worthy the honors
bestowed upon them by their brother soldiers.
