            THE FIFTY-FIFTH REGIMENT.—The Fifty-Fifth Regiment N.C. Troops was organized at Camp Mangum on the 19^th May.  The following Field Officers were elected.

            Colonel, John K. Connally, of Yadkin; Lt. Colonel, Abner S. Calloway, Wilkes; Major, James F. Whitehead, of Pitt.
