Wounded Prisoners.
We find in the Petersburg Express of
Friday last, a list of eighty one wounded Confederate prisoners, taken at the
late battle near Richmond, and now at Fortress Monroe. The following are the names of those
belonging to North Carolina regiments:

The
Hillsborough Recorder says that a letter has been received from Capt. Freeland,
which states that his leg has been amputed [sic]
above the knee; but that he has been kindly treated, has an attentive nurse and
that his physician thinks he is doing very well.
