PRISONERS.—Out of nearly four thousand prisoners, only three hundred are
reported to have availed themselves of the offers of bribery made by the
Federal authorities and, of these we are proud to say was but one North
Carolinian.—Henry S. Armstrong, of the 12th regiment.
