            Lieut. Gen. Leonidas Polk who participated in the great battle at Martinsborough is now in town, on a visit to his family.  He speaks in glowing terms of the gallantry of the three North Carolina regiments in that bloody engagement, viz: the 29^th, Col. Vance; the 39^th, Col. Coleman, and the 60^th, Col. McDowell.  He says they fought like veterans.
