                                                ORGANIZED REGIMENTS

            We copy the following from the Standard.  It will be well for our readers, to preserve the paper, for it is likely that there will be frequent references to the regiments where it will be satisfactory to know of what companies they are composed:

                                        NORTH CAROLINA VOLUNTEERS

            The following companies comprise the 5TH, 6TH, 7TH, 8TH, 9TH, 10TH and 11TH Regiments of North Carolina Volunteers:

            Fifth Regiment—Chatham Rifles, Capt. Ibrie; Monroe Light Infantry, Capt. McRae; Ellis Guards, Capt. Love; Beattie’s Ford Riflemen, Capt. Houston; Mountain Boys, Capt. Corbet; Tar River Guards, Capt. Perry; Davie Sweepstakes, Capt. Kelly; Franklin Rifles, Capt. Green; Sandy Creek Rough and Ready, Capt. Jackson; Poplar Spring Grays, Capt. Spivey.  Stationed at Garysburg.

            Sixth Regiment—Jackson Volunteers, Capt. Coleman; Madison Light Infantry, Capt. Peak; Black Mountain Boys, Capt. McElroy; Rutherford Riflemen, Capt. Lee; Rutherford Volunteers, Capt. Leaventhorpe; Haywood Rangers, Capt. Love; Jefferson Davis Macon Guards, Capt. Angel; Henderson Guards, Capt. Shipp; King’s Mountain Grays, Capt. Briggs; Buncombe Guards, Capt. Thrash.  Stationed at Raleigh.

            Seventh Regiment—Washington Grays, Capt. Sparrow; Hyde Volunteers, Capt. Leith; Tar River Boys, Capt. Johnson; Bertford Light Infantry, Capt. Sharpe; Currituck Atlantic Rifles, Capt. Lindsey; Roanoke Guards, Capt. Lamb; Company B. of Martin County, Capt. Clement; Washington County Volunteers, Capt. Gilliam; John Harvey Guards, Capt. Johnson; Independent Greys, Capt. Cahoon.  Stationed at Hatteras and Ocracoke.

            Eighth Regiment—Bladen Guards, Capt. George Tait; Bladen Infantry, Capt. Robert Tait; Holmes Riflemen, Capt. Chestnut; Independent Blues, Capt. Williams; Roberson Rifle Guards, Capt. Norment; Columbus Guards, No. 1, Capt. Ellis; Onslow Greys, Capt. Redd; Moore’s Creek Rifle Guard, Capt. Hawes; Columbus Guards, Capt. George; Scotch Boys, Capt. Malloy.  Stationed at Wilmington.

            Ninth Regiment—Orange Guards, Capt. Jones; Guilford Grays, Capt. Sloan; Goldsborough Rifles, Capt. Craton; Goldsborough Volunteers, Capt. Whitaker; Wilson Light Infantry, Capt. Barnes; Pitt Volunteers, Capt. Singletary; Marlborough Guards, Capt. Morrill; Dixie Rifles, Capt. Strong; North Carolina Guards, Capt. Whitfield; Tuckahoe Brave, Capt. Wooten.  To this Regiment the Artillery Company, under command of Capt. Pender, will be attached.

            Tenth Regiment—German Volunteers, Capt. Korneilson; Rifle Guards, Capt. Meares; Cabarras Black Boys, Capt. Atwell; Cape Fear Riflemen, Capt. Hawkins; Sampson Rangers, Capt. Faison; Fair Bluff volunteers, Capt. Smith; Columbus Guards, No. 4, Capt. Stenly; Columbus Guards, No. 2, Capt. Toom; Confederate Greys, Capt. Denison; Wilmington Light Infantry, Capt. McRae.  Stationed at Forts Caswell and Johnson.

            Eleventh Regiment—Town Fort Invincibles, Capt. Westmoreland; Mountain Boys, Capt. Pepper; Blue Ridge Riflemen, Capt. Graves; Davidson Guards, Capt. Leach.

            **We learn from an officer of the 10th Regiment, that the Holmes Riflemen, of Sampson county, has been attached to this regiment, in place of the Wilmington Light Infantry.                                                 --The Observer—

Forsythe Guards, Capt Wharton; Surry Marksmen, Capt. Gilmer; Mountain Timbers, Capt. Waugh; Yadkin Gray Eagles, Capt. Connolly; Forsyth Riflemen, Capt. Retts; Forsyth Southrens, Capt. Miller.  Stationed at Danville.

            Arms will be issued to the troops as soon as they are organized into a regiment and mustered intot he service.

            We learn that the Rockingham Invincibles, Capt. J. H. Boyd, has been attached to this Regiment.                                               --Patriot--
