Our Duty.

All those persons liable to Conscription having been called from their homes at this extremely busy season of the growing corn crop, many of them leaving their farms and crops almost entirely without any efficient persons to work them, it becomes the imperative duty of all who have a sufficiency of hands for their own work to assist to their utmost in maturing and saving all crops deprived of the regular force heretofore on them.  Besides being an inestimable service to the families thus seriously affected, it is, in fact, due to humanity, that this be done.  Let every man now at home do his duty and all will be well.
