Death of Thomas Jones, an Old and Respected Citizen.
Starr,
Jan. 25. -- Mr. Thomas Jones, who lived about two and a half miles south of
Starr, died suddenly at his home Saturday evening, Jan. 23. The interment took
place in Cross Roads cemetery yesterday afternoon. He was an honest, upright
citizen and served four years in the War Between the States. He made a good soldier as ever shouldered a
gun. He was married twice, his first
wife being the daughter of Mr. Lemuel Buchanan, his second wife, who survives
him, a daughter of Mr. Wm. Latham. Mr. Jones was the father of ten children.
