To the people of Williamsburg District
The “Mercury” of December the first contains a notice of resignation of Captain JAMES MCCUTCHEON, as Senator elect from this District. The seat of Williamsburg in the Senate is, therefore, vacant, and in order that she may enjoy equal advantages with her sister Districts, we beg leave to propose Dr. JAMES S. BROCKINTON to the voters of the District, as one in every manner qualified to attend to their interests.
Dr. BROCKINTON is known to every voter of the District, as well at home as in the army. He was once their Representative, and his qualifications need not here be canvassed. We hope that he will allow his friends the gratification of bestowing upon him this further assurance of his integrity and worth.
