About 5,000 of Lincoln’s troops entered Alexandria between 3 and 4 o’clock this morning and took possession, the 600 Virginia troops retiring without resistance, agreeably to orders, in good order, and in full view of the enemy, to Fairfax station, about 10 miles off.
Gen. Bonham of the S. C. brigade, has 1600 S. C. troops at Manassas Gap, and other forces at Culpeper Court House. In all five or six thousand, and another regiment was sent to him to-day.
