The State Convention of South Carolina has been summoned by its President, Gen. D. F. Semison [?] to meet at Columbia, on Tuesday the 9^th instant.

A telegram, dated Fort Morgan, (Mobile) September 5, says: The Confederate war Steamer Florida, Captain Moffit, 8 guns, ran the blockade last night, after an exciting chase of the Yankee cruisers with a loss of one man killed and two wounded. The Florida was built in England.
