We learn from the San Antonio (Texas) Ledger that in consequence of afflicting domestic intelligence received by Col. Reeve, U. S. army, Col. Van Dorn has extended the limits of Col. Reeve’s patrol beyond the limits of the Confederate States. Col. Reeve, it will be recollected, commanded the body of U.S. troops recently taken prisoners by Col. Van Dorn’s command.

When any U. S. army officer deals as generously with a prisoner of war as Col. Van Dorn has done with Col. Reeve, we will certainly notice the fact.--N. O. Pic.
