A Modest Message

The Washington Star says that the following telegraphic dispatch was lately received at the Yankee War Department:

BURKE’S STATION. Dec. 20—3 p.m.

Quartermaster-General Meigs, Washington:

In future you will please furnish better mules.—Those you have furnished recently are very inferior.

J.E.B. STUART; Maj. Gen. C.S.A.
