INCIDENT OF THE ACQUIA CREEK FIGHT- The Fredericksburg Herald, in speaking if the first fight of Acquia Creek between the federal vessels and our troops says:
There was no one injured on our side except for William McDougall, of this place, who received a slight flesh wound on the hand by a shell that exploded above him. McDougall had gone in a boat for the purpose of bringing in a guard of a small schooner. His quick eye discerned a shell making direct for him as he sat sculling; with one bound he cleared the boat, jumping into the river, but still holding on to the boat with one hand; the shell exploded above him, and one piece struck his hand.
The Fredericksburg Recorder, in speaking of the second fight on Friday last, relates the following incident:
