Notice.
THIS
COMPANY having accepted the terms made by the Government of the Confederate
States for the transportation of Troops, Provisions, and Munitions of War,
hereafter no Soldiers will be transported except in accordance with the orders
of the authorized officers actually in the service of the Confederate
States, the States of Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee or Kentucky.
Conductors
and Agents will required all Soldiers desiring to travel under the contract made
with the Government, to exhibit the order of the Quartermaster or other
authorized officer, which must state distinctly that they are traveling on
official business.
All
others without this official authority must pay the usual fare.
All
applications for the Transportation of Companies must be addressed to the
undersigned at Mobile, and state the number of men, the Stations they are to be
taken from and delivered at, the day they desire to go, and be made at
least four days before that time.
These
regulations have become necessary in consequence of the number of Companies
asking transportation and the great number of individuals applying for free
passage without any claim whatever.
Soldiers
traveling on Furlough will not be passed free.
