SKIRMISH WITH LINCOLN TROOPS NEAR ALEXANDRIA—The Enemy Routed with eight Killed, five Wounded and six Missing--The Lynchburg Virginian of Wednesday says:

We received intelligence last night of a skirmish that took place within three-fourths of a mile of Alexandria, between a detachment of 1^st Rifle Regiment of Alabama and a party of Lincoln’s troops. On Sunday morning last a portion of the battalion of the 1^st Rifle Regiment of Alabama, under the command of Capt. Weems, of Russell county, Alabama, started in pursuit of a relief guard quartered in a house near Alexandria. They succeeded in passing the picket guard and battery of the enemy, mounted on Shute’s Hill, and arrived at the point at three o’clock where the party they were in pursuit of were encamped. The sentinels shot one of the men, when the Lincolnites were routed from the house, the fight becoming general. Our men succeeded in killing and wounding a number. A young man came in camp shortly afterwards from Alexandria and reported the enemy’s loss eight killed, five wounded and six missing, with but one lost on our side. Our informant was in the action, and the intelligence is considered perfectly reliable.
