A REPORTED BATTLE—We are informed that a lady of this city received a letter to-day from a relative, a member of the Stephens’ Guard, who states that on the 17th his company participated in a fight near Hampton.
He reports that the Confederates lost five men but the Federalists a much larger number. That batteries were being thrown up at the position, and an engagement was expected. None of the Stephens Guards (Capt. Ketchums’s Company) were killed.
