INDEPENDENT REGIMENT—Col. J. F. Cushman of Oxford and Col. W. F. Dowd of Aberdeen are raising an independent Regiment for the war, or for three years, and now have eight companies.  Two more companies can get places in it, and as soon as offered they will march into service.—[Miss. Paper.]
