More Trouble
 The
militia of this county assembled here on Tuesday last, by order of the
commanding officer. They were properly
disposed of, to meet the enemy who are threatening this section. This enemy comes not in the shape of Northern
soldiers but is composed of disloyal men from Tennessee and our own State. A force of about one hundred visited the town
of Marshall, 20
miles north of this, one day last week, and sacked the place. They are threatening to pay Ashville a visit,
and have been expected for several days.
A similar condition of affairs exists in Yancy
and Mitchell counties, as we learn from a gentleman occupying an official
position in the former county, and who writes here to his superior officer
asking advice.
 Movements
are on foot which it is hoped will restore order and security to this
distracted country, and which will be fully known in due time.
