EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Miss Martha Morrow, Miss Bettie Morrow,
Miss Julia James, Miss Mag. Crawford,
Miss
Caroline Oldham,
As the result of one week’s activity, they send to the Railroad to-day, through their “committee to forward articles,” viz S. S. Webb and H. M. C. Strowd, a box of all manner of hospital stores for the sick soldiers at Yorktown, to the cash value of $100, together with some money, which they think can be more profitably expended in certain articles there. Allow an old man, a looker on, to request you to notice this in the Recorder, to the end that the ladies in every neighborhood in the two counties may be encouraged to like acts of energetic sympathy and female patriotism.
P. S. It is suggested by some of the knowing ones that the value of the box is rated much too low.
