MORE PRISONERS.—A special train
arrived here Saturday at 1 o’clock, P.M., bringing 150 more yankee prisoners,
chiefly officers, it is said. Some of
them are fine, well to do looking men.
Others again seem to be of the ragtag and bobtail kind.
It is reported upon pretty good
authority we believe, that our Government has determined to parole all the
privates confined in the prison at this place, and send hither from Richmond,
all the Federal officers held as prisoners, and that this measure will now be
executed as speedily as possible. There
are about 1400 privates here who will thus be permitted to return to their
homes, in the North.—Salisbury Watchman.
