And Still they Come.
On Tuesday
Capt. Hamilton Scales, of Stokes, reached Greensborough with his company, on
their way to Raleigh. Capt. Scales took
our citizens by surprise, as they had no previous intimation of his coming. –
But it is a difficult matter to surprise the ladies of Greensboro; and in a
short time they had provided for the brave men of Stokes, all that was
necessary to make them comfortable.
Capt. Scales has a fine company, well drilled and well equipped. He has promised us a list of his men and
officers, which we will take pleasure in publishing as soon as received. Stokes County has now three companies in the
field.
