SPECIAL ORDERS, NO.52

H: Colonels of Militia regiments and Commanders of Volunteer companies in the counties named in the proclamation of the Governor, and ordered to report to this Department, will report by letter forthwith the probable number of men they will be able to bring into the field.  They will as far as practicable, cause every man to be provided with at least two (2) pairs of shoes and socks and a sufficiency of underclothing to meet present necessities.  Each man should bring with him a pair of blankets, knife, fork and spoon, in cup and plate.

Captains of Companies should see that each mess is provided with enough mess pans, frying pans, camp kettles, coffee pots and gridirons; and also that every man is properly enrolled, and they (the Captains) will bring such rolls with them.
