Among the latest
arrivals is that of Captain Mouillot, a French cavalry officer, who has come to
the Confederacy with a view of offering his service in a military way. He has left Richmond to tender his services
to Gen. Beauregard. This gentleman says
that the sympathies of all classes in France
are with us in our struggle, but that France
and England
are both too much “compromised” with their own affairs to warrant intervention
just yet.
