PICKING UP SHOES—A gentleman from the eastern portion of
Virginia says that the Virginia
and North Carolina
troops picked up eight hundred pair of shoes, at a point near the Great Bethel
fight, the same having been thrown away by the fleeing Lincolnites. They appear to have made good use of their
feet on the occasion.
