Our Duty.
All
those persons liable to Conscription having been called from their homes at
this extremely busy season of the growing corn crop, many of them leaving their
farms and crops almost entirely without any efficient persons to work them, it
becomes the imperative duty of all who have a sufficiency of hands for their
own work to assist to their utmost in maturing and saving all crops deprived of
the regular force heretofore on them.
Besides being an inestimable service to the families thus seriously
affected, it is, in fact, due to humanity, that this be done. Let every man now at home do his duty and all
will be well.
